The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee is inviting all area women business owners and their female employees to a Women’s Leadership Conference at Camp Perry on Jan. 14.
“Unleash Your Inner Boss” is the theme of the event, which will include lunch, business vendors, and the opportunity to spend time on the air rifle range at the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at Camp Perry.
“This is the first ever Women’s Leadership Conference hosted by the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Abbie Fox, owner of Lakelynn Design and Chamber Ambassador Chairperson. “We have a lot of women-owned businesses in our area.”
Port Clinton Middle School Principal Carrie Sanchez will serve as the event’s guest speaker.
“She’s very well-traveled, and she’s going to be speaking about being a woman in business in today’s world. She’ll talk about her accomplishments and struggles,” Fox said. “Being a woman in business myself, it will be very relatable to me and to other woman business owners.”
Conference is divided into two parts
The Women’s Leadership Conference will be divided into two parts, beginning with Sanchez’s presentation and lunch catered by Bistro 163. During the second half of the event, attendees are welcome to spend time on the CMP air rifle range.
“Everything will be provided on the range,” Fox said. “I’ve never done that before, so I’m super pumped.”
The event will also give women business owners the opportunity to highlight their businesses as vendors.
“We’re inviting any women-owned businesses that would like to showcase their business to set up a table as a vendor for $10,” Fox said. “They can sell their products there, and it’s a great way to network and develop relationships with people.”
Costs, discounts, vendor information
Cost for the event is $55 for chamber members and $65 for nonmembers. A 10% discount will be given to groups of four or more from the same company. Vendors who want to stay for the event will be charged $55 whether they are members or not.
“We’ll have swag bags for the women, and they can have lunch, network, and socialize,” Fox said. “It will be a really fun afternoon.”
The Women’s Leadership Conference will take place from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 14. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce at 419-734-5503.
