AIDS 2022 | The 24th International AIDS Conference

AIDS 2022, 24th International AIDS Conference, the world’s largest conference on HIV and AIDS, will convene leading scientists, policymakers, and grassroots activists.

Why Attend?

For the first time, the world’s largest conference on HIV and AIDS will be hosted in-person in Montreal, Canada, as well as virtually, to make it accessible to as many people as possible.

AIDS 2022 will take place from 29 July to 2 August 2022, with pre-conference meetings beginning on 27 July 2022.

AIDS 2022 will call on the world to come together to re-engage and follow science. It will define future research agendas, shift the latest evidence to action, and chart a new consensus on overcoming the HIV epidemic as a threat to public health and individual well-being.

Conference theme and objectives:

1. Presenting evidence

Present and critically discuss the latest evidence, including in relation to research and development towards an HIV vaccine and cure, long-acting treatment and prevention technologies, integrated and differentiated models of care, findings from community-led research, monitoring and innovations in service delivery, and analyses of structural and economic determinants of health.

2. Learning from COVID-19 and HIV

Explore the adaptation of innovations from the response to COVID-19 across science, policy, and practice (including new partnerships between public and private stakeholders, industry and community actors, and scientists), learning from adaptations from the HIV response that accelerated the response to COVID-19, and consolidating good practice for pandemic preparedness.

3. Addressing evidence and implementation gaps

Draw attention to new or enduring gaps in the HIV response, such as areas where greater investment is needed in research and person-centered service delivery, and those where the needs of communities remain neglected or ignored.

4. Moving evidence to implementation

Support evidence-informed action by all stakeholders across geographic and sectoral boundaries through further increased access to the latest science, policy, and community discussions in a combined in-person and virtual format.

5. Supporting the next generation

Support the next generation of HIV scientists, clinicians, and other service providers and advocates through tailored networking, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
