About this event

Smart Start of New Hanover County and the Wilmington Faith Community will host the 9th Annual First 2,000 Days Community Summit on Monday, February 21st, 1-4 pm, at LifePoint Church located at 3534 S. College Rd. Free registration is required.

This year’s summit will focus on what mental health looks like in infants and young children and how we as faith leaders, parents, caregivers, and community members can support them. Join us to hear from keynote speaker, Jessica Taylor-Pickford, an expert in the field of infant and early childhood mental health. Attendees will listen to panel discussions, participate in dialogue about issues surrounding infant and early childhood mental health, and discuss its meaning in our community.

The Summit highlights the importance of the first 2000 days of life, the approximate number of days between the time a child is born and when they show up for the first day of kindergarten â€“ a critically important time for developing the skills that can prepare a child for success.
